As A Short Term rental customer for over 20 years and a property owner for several years. I find that this gives the vacationer a different option other than local hotels and hotel “Transit Occupancy” taxes are being paid. People who want room service will always stay in hotels. This is a completely different experience to stay in someone’s home for a few days or longer. By having a professional management company like Paradise Retreats manage our property we are insuring that temporary tenants are properly vetted and cared for. The company provides dozens of jobs and tens of thousands in revenue for Santa Barbara county every year. This is an option that should not be discriminated against by people who have had a bad experience. There are far more bad tenants long term in properties than those professionally managed short term rentals. Let’s make this a win/win for everyone.
